Outdoor Guided Meditation Summer Series

  • Fort Sumner Park 64 North Street Portland, ME, 04101 United States (map)

Let’s practice together in community for an outdoor meditation series this summer led by artist, Tara Rook through the Portland Yoga Collective.

One of the benefits to a meditation practice is creating a mindful life.  Each class will be themed to meditate and reflect on mindful awareness in our home life and in community.  Tara will lead a guided meditation based on the theme of the class.  Guided meditations will vary between offering breathwork, visualizations, mantras, and mudras which are dependent on the theme of the class.  After the practice we will have an open community discussion based on the theme on how we are being mindful in our community: ie collective reflection.

Please bring something comfortable to sit on, a journal and pen to take notes, and water or herbal tea.  A sweater or light jacket may be nice to have since mornings are chillier.

• what to expect •

10 min dharma talk

20 min guided meditation practice

How are you applying your mindful practice in our community?

What do you think our community needs in terms of mindfulness and mindful practices?

How do you work with fear/suffering/anxiety  in relation to positive mindsets?

How do you act with awareness?
